Summer 2016 Girls Tryouts – Class of 2021

Rochester, NY – February 3, 2016 – Solomon Bliss is excited to announce the inaugural tryout date for Northeast FCA Girls Lacrosse 2021 team as he serves in his new role as FCA’s Northeast Camps & Community Teams Director.  Bliss was a two time captain and All-American defenseman at Syracuse University.  He won two National Championships while at SU (2000, 2002) and went on to play 10 years of professional lacrosse for the Rochester Rattlers and the Hamilton Nationals, winning an MLL Championship with the Rattlers in 2008!  After retiring from the MLL, Bliss joined legendary coach, Dave Huntley, as the Defensive Coordinator of the Hamilton Nationals. For the past 10 years, Solomon has been a head varsity lacrosse coach in the Syracuse area.  Bliss looks forward to bringing his knowledge and expertise to the FCA program.

“We’re looking to achieve a very high level of lacrosse,” High School team coach Greg Scott says. “When the FCA teams are on the field, they are very competitive. They play hard. They lead by example. They show character. That attitude is the same for the players, the coaches, and the directors. It’s a very cohesive group. When coaches hear that a recruit is an FCA kid, their eyes light up because they know that kid is going to have good character and he’s going to work hard,” Scott says.

Tryouts will take place at Total Sports Experience (Gates) on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 6:30-8:00pm.
